Launched in 1694, La Réal de France was the absolute flagship of the Royal Galley fleet, designed specifically to project the unmatched power and artistic opulence of the Sun King, Louis XIV. More than a weapon of war, she was a floating Baroque palace, famously adorned with spectacular gilded sculptures designed by the legendary royal artist Pierre Puget.
