Maritime History
Launched in 1732 at Fécamp, L'Étoile was built as a replica of the traditional Breton cod-fishing schooners to serve as an elite training ship for the French Naval Academy. During World War II, she bravely joined the Free French Naval Forces (FNFL) in Britain, earning the prestigious right to fly the French flag with the Cross of Lorraine. As a living monument of maritime history, she remains one of the oldest operational sailing vessels in the French Navy, preserving ancestral tall-ship sailing maneuvers.
