HERMIONE
- FRENCH - 1780
Fayette used this boat to cross Atlantic for his second trip
to the United States, in 1780, and to participate in the war
of the American’s independence. Therefore that symbolized
a French-American friendship. In fact frigates as Hermione
are not very big boats. Hermione, precisely, is almost 65
meters in lengths, 11, 5 meters wide. On board there were
more than 300 men. This is because at the same time men were
needed for manipulation and navigation, especially perhaps
during the operation of the cannons which needed nine men
for each cannon.
